What
The Nutrition in City Ecosystems (NICE) Project is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). It focuses on six initial secondary cities in Bangladesh, Kenya, and Rwanda to improve health and nutrition and contribute to reducing poverty for populations of city regions, especially women, youth & vulnerable groups.
How
Working closely with the city's local authorities, NICE will facilitate stronger urban governance structures, involving women and youth, and incentivize improved food systems. The project works to increase the availability and production of healthy, local, agroecologically produced foods. In tandem, NICE increases knowledge of, and demand for, nutritious and agroecologically produced foods.
Further, the city-knowledge hubs ensure horizontal and vertical exchange, thereby shaping urban-rural food environments and informing national and global policies.

The workaround governance and systems are led by Swiss TPH. The measures to increase the availability and production of agroecological foods are led by Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA) with the Swiss Federal Institute for Technology (ETH). The knowledge and demand generation side is led by Sight and Life (SAL), with Swiss TPH involvement to engage the health and education sector. Learning and scale-up are led by ETH with support from all consortium members and drawing on established links to the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO). Content Source: https://nice.ethz.ch/
The NICE project is going to be implemented in Rwanda, Bangladesh, and Kenya. There are multiple local stakeholders that need to take ownership to make each initiative a success. Getting the visual right was very important for the shared vision.
The motifs of fish, sweet potato, spinach, tomato, citrus, and beans were included in the final logo to bring the local context to the idea of healthy foods.
The tagline for each country; Rwanda, Kenya, and Bangladesh can be added in the local language using the English script.
